For Christmas, my wife decided to make homemade, organic, dark chocolate truffles as gifts. Besides being a taste-tester, my job was to design the labels. Each member of my family received a special flavor, and there was an extra assortment for those who were curious. The illustrations are courtesy of Edward Lear, an English artist, illustrator, author, and poet, renowned today primarily for his literary nonsense.

Only One Life

In 2010, I discovered the book “Don’t Waste Your Life” by John Piper. Within its early pages, he mentions a “…riveting force in my young life—small at first, but oh so powerful over time—… a plaque that hung in our kitchen over the sink.” This is a simple, personal rendition of the words on that plaque.

Elegance
She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and prayed. Today would be different. She smiled. Today was a new day.
